Maths
I am primarily a Structured Literacy Teacher, however I am able to teach struggling maths learners up to Year 4.
​
An assessment is always carried out to identify gaps, prior to teaching and then a plan is put in place to help students fill gaps and develop confidence.
​
It is important for all students to develop a good understanding of number sense, place value and other mathematical concepts.
​
All maths lessons follow the new 2025 NZ Maths curriculum.

How Maths is taught:
Maths is taught systematically and cumulatively, moving from manipulating objects, pictures and then symbols (abstract) to ensure your child has mastered each concept.
